Holy mole, Angela's serves real Mexican

Take Angela's Cafe. If you don't know your way around East Boston, it's quite a bit harder to find. But once you home in, you won't forget how to get there. Angela's is memorable.

As with most memorable restaurants, that has a lot to do with the people who work there. It's a family business. Luis Garcia, son of the chef, makes the rounds in the tiny, goldenrod-colored room. He is chatty and welcoming, full of information about the restaurant's food, the status of its wine and beer license (hopefully in a few months, he says), and its history. Before his family opened the restaurant five months ago, Angela's Cafe was a pizzeria. He'll remember you on your second visit.

Then there's the chef herself, Angela Atenco Lopez. Having cooked professionally in Puebla, a center of Mexican gastronomy and her home till five years ago, she now prepares the dishes of that region here (plus the likes of pancakes, steak bomb subs, and ziti).

Online Prostitutes Arrested In Williamson County

Women selling sex on Craigslist in Central Texas are on the radar in Williamson County, where undercover detectives have already made several arrests.

Williamson County deputies said their sting began after a 17-year-old boy contacted an alleged prostitute from an ad on Craigslist. Craigslist is a popular community-based website launched in San Francisco that now has local community websites across the country. The site is used to by individuals to barter and sell goods and services. It also has an active job posting section.

Investigators don't know what happened between the teenager and the prostitute. What they do know is the next day, two of the woman's associates came to the home to collect money. The teenager called police to report a burglary in progress.

Courtship Rituals of Cornellians: An Ethnography

There was, I imagine, a moment in history when courtship rituals among the young men and women far above Cayuga's waters were fairly homogenous. That moment having been summarily executed in a parking lot, our current dating repertoires are sorely in need of documentation. It was the practice of pre-1990s anthropologists to write ethnographies that trampled all hopes of agency and otherized with grace rarely seen in today's literature. It is my intent to follow in that tradition with this column.

Hipsters — Although sometimes thought to be a twenty-first century construct, the Hipster genealogy is long, with Bob Dylan throwing the term around the East Village in 1959 and Billy Corgan beseeching Hipsters to unite in 1993's “Cherub Rock." Any such illustrious lineage must carry entrenched norms of courtship and reproduction.

Autistic and adored: Couple’s dating guide tackles social challenges

Emilia Murry Ramey and Jody John Ramey met through a mutual friend. They soon discovered they had more in common than their friend. Both were students at Portland State University. And both have autism.

The Vancouver couple are among the estimated 1.5 million Americans living with the effects of some degree of autism. Specifically, Emilia and Jody both have Asperger’s Disorder, marked by social awkwardness and a lack of understanding of conventional social rules.

As if dating weren’t hard enough.

"I hadn’t had any dating experience before meeting her," said Jody, 35.

"I used to say I had more jobs than dates," joked Emilia, 33.

Not only did Jody and Emilia figure out dating, they laid out tips for others in a book, "Autistics’ Guide to Dating: A Book by Autistics, for Autistics and Those Who Love Them or

Who Are In Love with Them." London-based Jessica Kingsley Publishers expected to release the book as early as today.

Knox mayor's aide questions recording of receipts in audit

Isn't it interesting that the picture accompanying this article showing "a sample of receipts related to the Knox County audit," contains receipts from February 2008? The audit was from 2002 - 2007. Is it really necessary to create bogus pictures to go with this article?

Ice Follies 2008 Announced

Ice Hut #1 – Christine Charette is a “process-oriented" artist who manipulates pop cultural artefacts, i.e. found objects, drawings, low-tech printing materials, and fabrics to create myths and stories. Jeremy Bean is a builder and artist living in North Bay. He is also extremely influenced by architectural accident and makes holistic structures that reflect his awareness of global power systems. The Charette/Bean ice hut will consist of a wooden representation of a crystalline mound “a pod frozen in time", and a figure in silhouette. Inside the structure explorers will find mini-exhibits sealed in niches and crèches. Rewind in Fast Forward will explore themes of story, myth, historical artefacts and the wonder of discovery. The display cubes are “packed with relics from different eras, remarkable objects, without rhyme or reason, a sort of collection trying to make sense of earth's human and imagined past".Ice Hut #2 - Jeannie Thib – Model Landscape includes a model built inside an ice fishing hut.

House price carcinoma

Once again it will take a Labor government to tackle the hard questions and fix all of the coalitions mistakes and laziness.Oh, and China will probably buy all our houses. They are already purchasing our resourses companies (providing our boom. So, how good is it for China, to ouwn the companies they are purchasing off?? Just fantastic business acumen I would suggest. We are driving ourselves into an abyss, on false pretences.

Bob, my sentiments exactly. Why can't the new Government borrow from our neighbours such as the Superpower China and really create competition for the banks. The Gov't would then be in a position to lend money at a lower rate, and by doing this force the major lenders to reduce their rates as well.

The Juesheng Si (Temple of Awakening) and Its Historical Vicissitudes

The Juesheng Si (Temple of Awakening) was built in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing in the 11th year of the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty (1733). It was located in Zengjiazhuang Village outside Xizhimen (Straight West Gate), one of the gates of the walls surrounding the city of Beijing. The area was dotted with pines and cypresses, plots of farmland and cottages. Smoke ascended slowly from kitchen chimneys. Green hills rose and fell in the distance. It was a superbly quiet place for followers of Buddhism.

Since the Temple of Awakening was built under Yongzheng's imperial edict, you can still find the horizontal stone board above the main gate, edged with the pattern of dragons flying through water and clouds. The board bears the characters "The Juesheng Temple Built by Imperial Order" inscribed by Emperor Yongzheng.

Starting off his career in television in 1962, Pollack leaped into feature films in 1965 with "The Slender Thread," starring Sidney Poitier and Anne Bancroft, and not before long, he was at the helm for "They Shoot Horses Don't They?" with Jane Fonda. He also teamed with Robert Redford for a number of films including "Jeremiah Johnson," "Three Days of The Condor," "The Way We Were" (also with Barbra Streisand) and "The Electric Horseman" (again with Fonda).

In addition, "Bobby Deerfield" partnered Pollack with Al Pacino, and "Absence of Malice" teamed him with Paul Newman and Sally Field. The director also doubled up as a filmmaker and actor in a memorable role as Dustin Hoffman's character's agent in "Tootsie."
