Tiger (in) Dubai." The first line of the story reads: Den här veckan avgörs den tredje raka Europatourtävlingen i Förenade Arabemiraten och i Dubai Desert Classic ställs Hook-spelaren Pelle Edberg mot självaste Tiger Woods.

Translated, it is believed to mean, "Annika would have a better chance of beating this dude than I would right now."

Up to his usual tricks, Woods drilled a drive so far down his 15th fairway of the day, it prompted playing partner Colin Montgomerie to crack, "That's reasonable."

Sort of like his opening, 7-under 65, which put him atop the end-of-the-day leaderboard for the fourth time in his five worldwide rounds in 2008.

- While others might disagree, there's a certain hypnotic rhythm to the Golf Channel's broadcasts from the European circuit compared to those in the U.S., where the latter seems intent to fill every second of on-air time with some sort of pithy comment or technological wrinkle.

No Vacancy: Inside the Emptying of Manhattan's $64 M. Mansion

I wouldn't call it a game, but it's like a game of poker to some extent," said Josh Zegen, whose firm Madison Realty Capital lent the sellers $25 million, some of which went to buying out tenants. “You don't know what's going on in the other side's head."

“I'm almost like a tenant advocate, because I empathize with their position in a lot of cases," Mr. Galterio said. “In some cases I don't, because they're taking advantage."

Ask Amy: She's got the goods on cheat

Dear Amy: A few weeks ago my friend "Darla" was out of town for the weekend.

I spotted her boyfriend at a bar/restaurant with another woman. He could not keep his hands off of her and looked and smiled at her lovingly.

Years ago my husband had an affair with his secretary. I was the last to find out. The betrayal was doubled knowing that co-workers and friends knew and no one told me.

I am afraid of how Darla will react and whether she will turn on me. I still want to warn her. How should I do this? I'd like to be anonymous. What do you think?

ANXIOUS FRIEND

Amy says: This sort of scenario presents a challenge to a friendship, but because of your own personal experience, you are in a position to understand how your friend might feel if you didn't tell her about this and she found out later.

Dear Andrew 1218:

Thank you. Thank you for inviting me. It's been a little while since I've had the honor of addressing you, and I appreciate very much your courtesy to me today. We should do this more often. I hope you will pardon my absence last year, and understand that I intended no personal insult to any of you. I was merely pre-occupied with the business of trying to escape the distinction of pre-season frontrunner for the Republican nomination, which, I'm sure some of you observed, I managed to do in fairly short order. But, now, I again have the privilege of that distinction, and this time I would prefer to hold on to it for a while.

I know I have a responsibility, if I am, as I hope to be, the Republican nominee for President, to unite the party and prepare for the great contest in November.

The story so far

When asked why she thought he treated her different than the other girls, she said probably because her dad "had a talk with him." Her mom and dad knew they dated.

-- Vanessa. Met suspect at park. ... Suspect took her to a home on Hemphill and wanted to have sex. She told him no. He became angry and called her names and told her to get out. She started crying as she did not know how to get to her cousin's house. He drove her back to her cousin's house and pushed her out of the vehicle. They met at Six Flags and went out twice. First time went to store and riding around. Second time to go to a movie but ended up at a house he said was his. He took photos of her on a bed. She refused to "stay there" with him. He became angry and cussed her. He did ask if she was a virgin.

As they listened to the girls, many of whom were still terrified of Ortiz, police heard familiar stories.

Marcus Einfeld sent for trial on lie counts

Attempts to have the case thrown out came to nothing when, at a shade past 1pm, Mr Einfeld was committed to stand trial before the District Court on 13 charges that he repeatedly lied about traffic offences, blaming two on a friend he knew had died.

He sat for most of Deputy Chief Magistrate Helen Syme's judgment with his head resting on his hands, looking at the ground.

"I'm satisfied that there is sufficient evidence upon which a jury could convict the defendant of each of these indictable offences," Ms Syme told the Downing Centre Local Court.

Ms Syme then asked him if there was anything he wanted to say in his defence.

Standing, hands clasped loosely in front of him, he responded: "No, thank you."

Ms Syme dismissed the arguments mounted by Mr Einfeld's barrister Ian Barker QC and described the police case as a "good" one, with "ample evidence" to place before a jury in support of the charges.

Garden City continues mastery of Derby

For the Garden City boys, Derby has become a pretty sweet place to visit.

Thursday, the Buffaloes won a 63-60 thriller over the Panthers in a Class 6A sub-state semifinal, Garden City's fourth straight win at Derby dating back to a 2003 sub-state title.

"It's really something else," Garden City coach Jeff Tanner said. "Maybe they'll let us play here Saturday."

Sorry, coach. That game, a sub-state final against No. 2-ranked Southeast, will be played at Campus.

But Thursday, it was all about Garden City point guard Bobby Wesley, who finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, his second straight triple-double.

"Our biggest challenge tonight was to stop Bobby Wesley and we couldn't get it done," said Seth Hardiman, who led Derby with 19 points.

Kylie's sexy duet upsets Heather

POP Princess Kylie Minogue reduced Paul McCartney's estranged wife Heather Mills to tears after she sang a sexy duet with the former Beatles star on a New Year's Eve television special.

Friends of Mills say she was furious when she saw Minogue "flirting" with her husband and lying on top of a grand piano while singing his solo song, Dance Tonight, alongside Sir Paul.

"She's really mad about the way Paul got close to Kylie," one friend told The Sunday Mirror.

"She reckons he did it on purpose and feels it was a deliberate public dig at her.

"She thinks he's just trying to prove a point, that he's moved on and is comfortable around other women. She was so hurt she burst into tears."

Sir Paul and Kylie were special guests on the BBC2 program, Jool's Holland annual Hootenanny.
