Romney gets aggressive with Republican rivals

Just some of the highlights: Opposed the 1957 Civil Rights Acts. Used this as a wedge issue against Nixon! to help capture the "solid South" in the 1960 election. Did absolutely nothing for civil rights in his first year of office. Encouraged, told or instructed Robert Kennedy to sic Adam Clayton Powell on Martin Luther King, threatening to expose an imaginary sexual scandal with Bayard Rustin, MLK's black gay top lieutenant, to prevent a march in Los Angeles. Opposed the 1963 March on Washington. Refused to deploy troops to protect the Freedom Riders. Ignored the Albany, Georgia bus station riot. So many more lost opportunities to choose from….

In the early 1960s, obviously, JFK's attention was diverted to Cuba, Berlin, Vietnam, and, increasingly, Marilyn Monroe and other actresses.

From flappers to pop princesses, Milan turns full circle

Extravagant designs and iridescent shades were omnipresent as retro styles, from the low-waisted dresses of the Roaring Twenties to the psychedelic oversized prints of the 1970s, set the runways alight.

Flamboyant Italian designer Roberto Cavalli said his 2008-2009 autumn-winter collection was for young girls who rummaged through attics, junk shops and old vinyl records to seek individual style.

A thumbs up from Generation Now would be his greatest compliment, he said.

"I love it when a little girl of 14-15 says 'How do you do it Mr Cavalli? You make me feel like a rock star,'" he said.

Flamingos served as the leitmotif on blouses and flowing organza dresses were splotched with blobs of peach, tangerine and emerald green, enlivening an already eye-popping floral backdrop.

Father Ryan students spend Ash Wednesday in day of service

Jay said that at first it seemed strange to be called a missionary. "We aren't going to Haiti or anything like that," the Bellevue resident said. "But we are going to show people we care about them."

Jim McIntyre, president of Father Ryan, says the project, now in its second year, was inspired by students.

Last year's student council came up with the idea, he said, and this year's council wanted to follow their example.

Students had to apply for a limited number of volunteer slots, McIntyre said.

McIntyre said that the project fit with the school's motto: "A tradition of faith, knowledge, and service." "We live in a world that tells kids to think only of themselves," he said. "At Father Ryan we are being countercultural by teaching them how to serve others first."

Students share faith

During the school year, students take part in a theology class that focuses on how
faith should shape student's actions, Matthew said.

Federal case unveils inner workings of Azteca gang

For now, the arrests seem to have had a positive impact on El Paso street crime, police said.

"It's been kind of quiet" since the indictments, said Sgt. Reginald Moton of the El Paso police Gang Unit. "They (Barrio Azteca members) controlled a lot of the drug activity. We had information they would charge other gangs quotas to .

HiFi DNA Tech Questions FDA In Lawsuit - 'Why HPV DNA PCR Is ...

HiFi DNA Tech has filed suit against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration here in U.S. Federal District Court requesting the high court overturn the FDA's denial of HiFi's petition for reclassification of its human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA detection device from the more-restrictive class III to class II.

"The FDA should be encouraging innovative companies to introduce their science-based devices to facilitate transfer of the molecular technologies developed in the past 15 years to clinical laboratories to improve patient care," said Sin Hang Lee, MD, of HiFi DNA Tech, based in Trumbull, Conn.

"Changing the classification encourages innovative companies to introduce their new devices into the market to assist clinical laboratories to perform accurate HPV genotyping, which will help the doctors give better health care to women," said Dr.

Oram: Price Tag Took My Breath Away

Jacob Oram insists New Zealand's failure to wrap up the one-day series against England was not influenced by the distraction of the Indian Premier League's player auction.

New Zealand's premier all-rounder was one of four players in their line-up for the thrilling tie at Napier that were being auctioned off to the IPL franchises as the game reached its climax at McLean Park.

But Oram, who did not enjoy one of his better games after conceding 43 runs in seven overs and scoring only six, was insistent the IPL bidding did not affect New Zealand, who failed to win from a favourable position with seven overs remaining.

"When I was facing balls or running in to bowl (all I was thinking) was about what I had to do then," stressed Oram.

Inqlings: Will Luke Wilson get any attention?

The women of Bryn Mawr College will have Luke Wilson in their midst in late April and early May.

Wilson, the Legally Blonde star and Frat Packer, will be on campus to film Tenure, a comedy about a college prof.

Bryn Mawr nudged out Haverford College, which also had been heavily scouted.

Bryn Mawr spokesman Matt Gray expects few distractions at the all-woman school. "They'll be busy with finals at that point," he says.

Philly's Heery Casting is looking for identical-twin men, ages 18 to 22 with no acting experience necessary, for roles. (They must be actual identical twins.) E-mail a picture, with contact info, to tenuremovie@gmail.com.

Wilson's older brother Owen will visit Bucks County and thereabouts in May to shoot scenes with Jennifer Aniston for Marley & Me.

No disrespect to J-Hood, but he is on here in disproportion to his name in the game. You can say what you want about 50 Cent and the Lil Wayne rumors but the are all over the place for good reason. Nevertheless, I heard a rumor that Hood was robbed and made to strip his gear all the way down to his boxers this weekend in Yonkers. Now, here is where it gets weird. I heard “they" put the whole ordeal on tape. I'm hearing they are threatening to put it on the net to embarrass the young homey. No word on who did this, but there are a few guys I think have motive.

Best actor, actress races tighten ahead of Oscars

Hollywood enjoys surprises on the movie industry's most prestigious night, and pundits think popular actor George Clooney and little-known French actress Marion Cotillard would be wise to start practicing their acceptance speeches.

"There is no such thing as a shoo-in at the Oscars. Hollywood is a town of bull-headed, contrary-minded people," said Tom O'Neil, columnist for www.TheEnvelope.com.

Day-Lewis, 50, an actor known for lengthy preparation, is well-liked by Academy voters. He won an Oscar playing a man who overcomes cerebral palsy in 1989's "My Left Foot," and has been nominated two other times for "In the Name of the Father" and "Gangs of New York".

This awards season, he has earned numerous honors playing a sadistic, early 20th century oil prospector in dark drama "There Will Be Blood" -- only his fourth film in a decade.

It suggests the removal of Net access of those people who persistently download and share copyrighted material. ISPs now have to redefine their position even though the 2002 e-Commerce Regulations defined these firms as ‘mere conduits’ and not responsible for the contents of the traffic flowing across their networks.

The legal issues, like laws on surveillance explicitly prohibit ISPs from inspecting the contents of data packets unless forced to do so by a warrant.
